On the City of heroes website there is an announcement about an interesting contest:

From the City of Heroes website : "Several of the City of Heroes servers received an impromptu party celebrating St. Patrick’s Day last Friday, when community members Lighthouse, Ex Libris, and Arctic Sun dropped in. They broadcast news of their arrival on the official in-game channels, and welcomed Heroes and Villains alike to a mixer at the Pocket D nightclub."

The first reports from the Game Developer's Conference are coming and we are finally getting more information about the next City of Heroes Issue (we are at the ninth one) and Invention system. The Invention system will be a kind of "crafting" system, wich will allow player to build any kind of enhancements or costume.

With todays update, the Valentine Day event has begun in City of Villains/City of Heroes, but also graphical effects and powers received some attention.

The City of Heroes and City of Villains clients received a patch yesterday which solved some crash issues. This was the last patch expected for the year 2006. Another more content rich one is expected in January 2007.

Winter is blowing in across the bay to Paragon City™, and settling on the Rogue Isles™ like an icy blanket. New presents and threats await both heroes and villains this holiday season.

The latest City of Heroes content expansion - Issue 8: To Protect and Serve - has been made available on the live servers. The main new things are Veteran Rewards, Safeguard Missions and Faultline zone revamp. Full patch notes follows.

If you love COH / COV trailers as much as I do, you will be happy to know that Cryptic Studios has made a new one to introduce the new features and improvements coming with the eighth free content expansion for the game named To Protect and Serve.

Due to technical reasons the Cathedral of Pain has been brought offline but hopefully it will be back soon. Earned Items of Powers will stay in place.

Starting from the 18th of October heroes and villains of paragon are encouraged to participate at a special Halloween themed event . "However, a dark shadow has fallen over this year's festivities. Word has spread from the shadowed town of Croatoa that strange things are headed south to spoil the holiday with their own evil celebrations. With the location of the Malleus Mundi still a mystery following it's disappearance last year, it's feared that new creatures might appear on the city streets. There have already been rumors that the Unseelie court may be sending fiends to paragon City to join the Vampires and werewolves that stalk the night on All Hallows Eve."
